Another round of showers and thunderstorms managed to move through Central Florida to kick off the work week, and we’ll be looking at more of the same over the next couple of days as a warm and moist air mass continues to keep a lock on the weather pattern.  Meanwhile, tropical action continues to try to get more organized as it moves into Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, though will stay far away from our area.

On Tuesday, winds will ride up from the southwest over most of the area at 5 to 10 mph with partly sunny skies to start the day.  As temperatures climb back to the low and mid 90s and a slight seabreeze comes ashore south of the cape, we will again be looking at a fairly good chance for more of the scattered showers and thunderstorms once we move past the noon hour, though should be a bit more limited compared to the action that managed to build on Monday.

Rain chances will stand at 40 to 50 percent from Wednesday through the end of the work week as temperatures continue to top in the low to mid 90’s for most of the area.  While we may see a slight drop in those percentages on Saturday, the chance for the seasonable afternoon thunderstorms will remain with us right in to the first part of next week.

T.D. 2 is over Belize.  Forecasts call for a northwest motion that will carry it over Mexico and into the southern Gulf where it may eventually regain some composure and possible take on tropical storm strength before pushing ashore along Mexico’s gulf coast Wednesday night or early Thursday.  Even if it were to take on the name “Barry,” it will remain far away from Central Florida.  The rest of the tropics remain quiet, with no other formation expected in the next 48 hours.
