Today the southwest wind flow over the state allowed the west coast sea breeze boundary to from early and push inland in Central Florida producing only isolated showers and storms. These storms interacted late in the day with the east coast sea breeze that was held to the east coast by the southwest wind. The strongest storms developed along the east side of the peninsula and will linger through the evening, winding down sometime after midnight. Expect heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning in these thunderstorms.
Tonight, expect warm and muggy conditions to persist, with some misty light fog developing close to sunrise. We will see partly cloudy to clear skies with lows ranging from 73 at Ocala and Palm Coast to 75 in Orlando and Melbourne. Low temperatures on the barrier islands may only fall into the upper 70s.
Tomorrow, expect a similar weather pattern to emerge. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are again likely, along with and plenty of heat and humidity for Central Florida. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s for most, with heat index readings above 100 degrees. Area beaches will see some relief due to the daily sea breeze and will see afternoon high temperatures reach the upper 80s.
A weak front over the southeastern states will allow for a bit more moisture on Thursday and we will see higher rain chances, with highs in the lower to middle 90s. A typical wet-season weather pattern is expected on Friday with highs in the lower to middle 90s. By the weekend, an easterly wave with more moisture heads toward Central Florida. This increases rain chances, as showers and storms will move inland from the Atlantic and push toward the western side of the peninsula. Behind this wave, a slight drying takes place late Sunday.
As for the tropics, T.D. Two has moved inland. This system will remain weak as it moves northwestward into Mexico. Elsewhere, no tropical formation is expected.
