Margaret Kavanagh, Reporter
From the East Coast to the West Coast to the Space Coast, Margaret Kavanagh is one of your Brevard County newsroom reporters for News 13.
Margaret comes to us from KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Wash. where she worked as an evening anchor and reporter for almost three years. Before moving to Washington, Margaret spent two years as the news director and reporter for WBCB, an AM radio station in a Philadelphia suburb.
At college, Margaret spent a semester at the University College Cork and traveled extensively throughout Europe. During her senior year, Margaret interned for NBC News in New York City. There the excitement of breaking news hooked her on a career in broadcast journalism.
Margaret grew up in Cherry Hill, N.J. and graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Communication. Writing for the school paper gave Margaret her first taste of journalism, but an appearance on a local channel in a mock newscast in the third grade initiated her interest in the broadcast journalism.
Her favorite part of reporting is meeting so many different and interesting people.
When Margaret is not covering stories in Brevard County, you can find her at the beach, running, in yoga class or cooking.
