Kelli Cook, Reporter
Kelli Cook joined the Central Florida News 13 team as a general assignment reporter for the Orlando newsroom in May 2008. When it comes to reporting, Kelli sums it up best, “there are no two days that are like.”
Kelli came to the Sunshine State from Tupelo, Miss. where she was the primetime anchor for WLOV News at 9. Prior to working at the FOX affiliate, Kelli anchored the morning and noon news for WTVA, the NBC affiliate. She also gained experience as an intern for the ABC News Bureau in Atlanta, Ga., the Sunshine Network in Tallahassee, Fla. and at WDIA AM 1070 in Memphis, Tenn.
Whether it’s covering a brutal brush fire or sharing a real survivor’s story, Kelli loves her role as a reporter in Central Florida. For her, it’s a new situation every day.
In her career, some of Kelli’s most memorable stories are weather related. As an anchor and reporter in northern Mississippi, she covered deadly tornadoes. She always felt a sense of pride and amazement at the commitment of her community to come together in times of need and tragedy.
Kelli is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Florida A&M University with a Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism.
A southern girl through and through, Kelli is originally from the barbeque and soul music capital of the world, Memphis, Tenn. She is a member of the Greater Orlando Florida A&M University Alumni Association and the National Association of Black Journalists. Kelli also enjoys cooking, writing, speaking and watching sports.
