Jeff Day, Chief Meteorologist
He started out reporting sports, but weather soon became his career focus. Chief Meteorologist Jeff Day heads a team of four News 13 meteorologists.
Jeff is a graduate of the meteorology program at Mississippi State University. That's a long way from his hometown of Spencer, Wisconsin! He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. Eau Claire was also where he began his broadcasting career. He eventually moved on to television and radio in Augusta, Georgia.
A member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, Jeff says Florida's unpredictable weather keeps him on his toes. “Weather is an ever-changing thing. Every day can present a new challenge.” That is the part of his job he loves most, though.
He's also a golf lover, but admits that his playing doesn't give Tiger Woods any reason to lose sleep. He's served on the board of directors of the Wayne Densch YMCA. When he's not working in the yard or on his golf game, he's busy helping his wife keep up with their twin daughters!
