Volusia County Newsroom Reporter Jason Wheeler joined Central Florida News 13 originally as a news producer before returning to his first passion … reporting.

Jason’s experience reflects all aspects of a working newsroom. After all, he has benefited from working and learning practically every position in a newsroom, from a production assistant to an anchor and a little bit of everything in between.

Jason came to Central Florida after stops in Mobile, Ala., Augusta, Ga., and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

A University of Alabama graduate, Jason grew up in Gainesville, Fla.  So, while he pulls for the Crimson Tide, he can still quietly root for the Gators!

Jason and his wife Shelley live in Palm Coast with their two sons. When Jason's not sniffing out the latest scoop, you'll find him spending as much time as possible with his family and trying to figure out how to beat the weeds growing in his lawn.
