Additional Information

SANFORD -- A Volusia County woman was confronted by an armed purse snatcher Friday.

Investigators said it happened in the Publix parking lot on the 900 block of Doyle Road in Deltona.

Volusia County Sheriff's deputies said three dark-skinned men allegedly pointed a gun at the woman and demanded her money and purse.

She screamed and the suspects drove away.

A deputy nearby heard the 911 and spotted the suspects driving past him. He tried to pull them over and that's when the pursuit began.

The car led deputies on a chase down state Road 415 into Sanford. They then turned onto Celery Avenue and later crashed into a tree at Celery and Scott avenues.

Jonathan Baker, 21, was arrested. Deputies believe he pointed the gun at the victim. Baker now faces multiple charges, including carjacking with a firearm.

Akeem Holton, 18, was also arrested and charged with principle to carjacking with a firearm.

The search is now on for the third suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeLine at (800) 423-TIPS.
