Deputies: Man Chokes Girlfriend In Dishwasher Debacle

DELTONA -- An argument between two elderly people on how to load a dishwasher turned violent.
Now an 82-year-old Deltona man is behind bars accused of beating and choking his girlfriend.
Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say Joseph Strauch choked his girlfriend until she was unconscious Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say he was angry at the way his girlfriend loaded the dishwasher.
The 74-year-old woman was treated at the hospital for bruises on her right arm, bleeding from cuts on her legs and redness around her neck.
Strauch was charged with battery by strangulation and has been ordered not to have contact with the victim.
