ORLANDO -- Orange County is launching a new campaign in hopes of literally clearing away crime.
Earlier this month, investigators were searching for a suspect who jumped out of the bushes and tried to rape a woman as she walked her dog in the area of Goldenrod and Toledo.
Starting Thursday, code enforcement will be out in that area clearing away six overgrown lots.
The hope is to eliminate places where a would-be rapist would hide.
Volunteers wanting to help with the "cut back on crime" initiative can meet at the parking lot of 2223 S. Goldenrod Rd. at 10 a.m. Thursday.
