BREVARD COUNTY -- A Brevard County man will spend the next three years behind bars for running a hurricane shutter scam.
Andrew Fernald, 50, was sentenced to three years in prison and 12 years probation after he admitted to bilking dozens of retirees out of a total of approximately $50 thousand.
Last month, Fernald pled guilty to one felony count of organized fraud.
While standing trial last year on similar charges, Fernald fled to New York. He was eventually caught and brought back to Florida.
