BITHLO -- Orange County firefighters responded to a brush fire in the Bithlo area of east Orange County Thursday morning.
According to officials, around 6 a.m. the Orange County Fire Communications Center began receiving calls for a large column of smoke in the area of East Colonial Drive and Fifth Street
Orange County Fire responded with two engines, two woods trucks and a tanker truck. An engine was staged at a salvage yard for added protection.
The Division of Forestry responded with a tractor to cut a plow line around the fire and Orange County Sheriff's helicopter to provide an aerial view to the ground crews.
The cause of the fire is under investigation; however, a homeless camp was seen by air.
Orange County firefighters will remain on the scene to check for hotspots throughout the day
