With the first ever outdoor ice rink in Brevard County, this one of a kind event allows skaters to enjoy skating on a real ice rink in Florida! Holiday on Ice is a six-week long event open daily for skating, visits with Santa Claus and a fire pit to make s’mores. Also throughout the six weeks are events such as snow nights where kids can play in real snow and movie nights that play holiday classics on the big screen.

The Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Home Replica constrution will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 22. The Moore were parents, educators and leading local and national civil rights activists. On Christmas night 1951 after celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, the Moores were fatally injuried when a bomb exploded under their Mims home. Mr. Moore died on the way to the hospital and Mrs. Moore died nine days later on January 3, 1952 one day after the funeral for her husband.This event is sponsored by the Brevard County Parks & Recreation Dept. and the Harry T. & Harriette V. Over the last several years on the property of our church in Longwood we have organized SerbFest, with a goal to show our cultural treasure to those who are not familiar with it here, on American soil. Year after year more and more guests come and the Festival slowly is starting to become a symbol of the area we live in. This year it will be our honor to host several folk dance groups from the United States and Canada, as well as an ethnic ensemble band from North Carolina. All of them are going to show a variety of dances and songs from the areas we come from, as well as traditional Serbian outfits. In our church, there will be a gallery of sacred vessels and utensils from the Serbian Orthodox Church. Alongside songs, dance, and wholesome fun, we will have an excellent choice of food and drinks, whose roots also come from the areas we hail from. These foods represent our traditional kitchen recipes and are all going to be prepared by our diligent housewives. For our children we have prepared fun activities, including bounce houses and games, so that they will also have something to occupy their time.

Enjoy animal stories along with a special visit from one of our favorite Zoo animals.  Programs are presented by the Orange County Library System Storytellers in October and the Seminole County Library System Outreach Specialist will present in November. Storytime is designed for pre-school age children.

Cassadaga Heritage Day will feature the opening of the historic Colby-Alderman Park and the Julia Slater Memorial Museum and Library in Cassadaga.The former Colby Park (George Colby was the original grantor of the 57+ acre Camp property), features a Sign Guided Walking Tour through the ruins of the original settlers of Cassadaga. The signs explain how and why the early Spiritualist arrived, how they survived, and the legacy they left. Volusia County Historian Tom Baskett, will be on hand to guide two tours.

A benefit bike ride for the family of Somer Thompson. First stop: kickstart; 2nd stop: White Eagle; 3rd stop is Crossroads; 4th stop: Sweet Melissa's and last stop is BFFAR where there will be give aways, live band, food, and raffles, and our time to show the family that we will not tolerate violence against our kids.
